Post 27: More images

These are some more scenary shots. The images are from september
This is of the first actual location ive been shooting in and its located outside Epsom.

These are just outside shots of the area to locate scenes in the video and to also obtain spacial awareness

This part of the location will be specifcally used in the hiding scene. We will see the main actor hiding behind the wall with the robot walking past and looking around

These shots were taken to get a feeling for the interior of the building

Post 26: Images

Recently i got a Flickr account as i though that it was the only way to upload the pictures i had taken onto the blogg. However it turns out that you needed to be patient with uploading of pictures. So finally i am uploading them. This post consists of photography taken in the summer. This was done in order just to get a feel for the type of shots i was going for.

The first photo was of an alleyway in Dorking. Orriginally i was going to have an over shoulder shot of the the main character just walking down an empty alleyway.

This next shot is the same however i shot it in black and white to see which version i preferd

The next shot is from the other angle. I liked the look of the factory mixed with the rural asthetic of the alleyway. It looked like a feature out of a Tim Burton film which looked quite surreal. Therefore i thought that it would look good for an overshoulder shot looking at the factory. Also this is more intresting than the other photo.

The other version is in black and white

This image is of a street light. I orriginaly wanted the main character to be in the street light.

The next shot is the last for this post. Its the same as the last shot just in black and white.

Whether these shots will be used in the final piece is yet to be decided. Expect more photos soon.

Post 23: Whats been happening

Ive been busy finishing of the story boards, ideas for magazine advertisment and the album cover.

I have ran into a few dificulties along the way. The videos are for some reason not loading up onto my computers. Hopefully i wont have to reshoot anything.

I had such a clear idea of what i wanted to capture in my video that i started taking test footage of scenary during the summer. I should have put the demo footage along with the actual footage and outakes on earlier.

The test footage consisted of scenary shots, both in colour and monochrome. One involved looking out of my car windows to find a good position to film the opening shot. The next part of filming took place in quite a Tim Burton style alleyway. I thought it was intresting because the proportions and dimensions wernt simetrical and also had a rural yet industrial quality. I was planing on using a trolley to obtain a tracking shot however i realised it wouldnt fit. The last piece of filming on that day included the filming of a lampost and a park. I origionally wanted the character to stand alone under the lamp during the evening. The point of the park was to capture the character alone in the park during the sun going down because i thought it would be a fantastic shot, however it wasnt practical to get the type of shot i required. This was due to the inconsitency of weather and also i was aiming for an effect which wouldnt seem out of place on high budget blockbuster.

Once again i apologise for lack of updates or lack of footage

Post 22: Band myspace's

In this post i shall be looking at bands myspace's to obtain information regarding how they create an atmosphere using color placement and imagery. I will be looking at bands scoping all genres.

The first bands myspace i'll be looking at is techno band The prodigy

Likes
How the green provides a neon rave sensobility. This colour is assosiated with the raving ethic due to its brightness
The rough imagery provides a DIY quality. This provides a down to earth quality

Dislikes
The grey clashes with the green making it hard on the eyes however it coincides with the rave asthetic

The next band is skate band set your goals

Likes
The imagery is quite artistuc and was drawn by one of my favourite artist's Drew Millward
The use of blue's and beige's provide a sombre look
Dislikes
Nothing

The next band is Sum 41

Likes
The blue colouring makes the web page feel very mature in the sense that the colours used can be assosiated with militarial colouring

Dislikes
The placement of the band at the top looks quite awkward uncomftable. They focus there stare outwards

The next band is the lonely island, They are a comedy rap group

Likes
I like how they incorporate there album cover into the page

Dislikes
I actually dislike the page as it doesnt feel very accesible to others, however it retains a sense of comedy

The next myspace is for alternative DJ Mark Ronson

Likes
Once again influenced by the album cover
It maintains a DIY sensibility
The use of colours makes it feel like it's from the 8o's

Dislikes
Nothing

The last artist's myspace is Morrissey. He creates alternative rock

Likes
How his face is the distinguishing factor
His face has become so recogniseable that it sells the records
Its quite simplistic

Dislikes
The colours are quite boring
There isnt much happening on his myspace
